Team work and Team spirit are terminologies grooming up in today’s corporate companies. It may be for designing the new project framework,t introducing the new product in the market, setting up the new business plan etc., The most interesting thing which brings up the focus is top management shows interest in these type of team initiative, which brings a proper team formation and yields the healthy business ideas. The IT companies are organizing with the quarterly and yearly off-site meets may be in India and some companies arrange for the overseas visit too. In these off-site meet the whole including the top management sit together and discuss about the future plans and implementation strategies. These exercises would increase the team spirit and good way to doing a brain storming sessions. Many new ideas and suggestions would bring to the table and interestingly the top management is also part of this exercise which in turn gets into the immediate implementation of the ideas that brought to the forum.
Many companies are now interested in these exercises and started doing periodically. I would like to share my personal experience through this blog, when I was associated with Wipro it used to be a time where the whole team meets in an outside places like kerala, goa and other resorts for the yearly summits. Normally it used to extend for 3 days and the day starts with the official welcome given by our CEO, CTO and other top officials and followed by the other presentation by the regional managers across India on their future business plans and end the day with ostentatious party in the evening by hitting the dance floor.
The second we would be separated as a team and give a topic for discussion and that used to be related to the new business strategies and would cover areas like new products in the market, customer satisfaction and queries, credit and payment process, partner management and as such. Each team will have a mentor from the top management to see the progress and give the inputs on the topic of discussion. The day ends so interesting where we used to assemble in a room and do the 360 degree evaluation of all the team members. This will be good exercise and we used to understand our positive and negative characters would reveal at this forum, which will be a good practice for our personal development.
The third day will again start with the interesting note by joining a different group and an external trainer will trains us on different topics like communication, attitude, positive synergy, customer interaction, mind management and so on. We had received these from the worlds notorious company in sales training called Dale Carnegie training academy, trust me the cost involved is really high and worth of spending such money on these people.
These days we can see these teaming games in the manufacturing organisations also. Where the team is formed for the ISO certification, six sigma quality process teams, BS 7799 security standard team and as such.
The management theory says teaming is a game and who ever plays it very well will be placed very well. These concepts are often seen in across industries like music, cinemas, competitions, schools/colleges and so on. For any programme to present it in an organized way, teaming comes and stands in front for the pure play.
Let’s get into some theories on the teaming concepts.
Synergy:
The synergy is a teaming activity and in which the team cohesiveness is the head which yields desired results.
Positive Synergy
The positive synergy goes here with the formulae - 1 + 1 = 3, which mean two people together can produce more results than their capability. Typical traditional instances like two workmen involved in the production unit will produce more comparatively when they do it individually.
Differential Synergy
This is the contemporary concept derived by me and again the formulae goes here - 1 + 1 is more than 3. The meaning is when two people join their hand together; they can produce more than their capacity. The comparison to the previous strategy is that here he two people will sit together and brain storm about the activity and will perform better than the earlier one. So I mean here that they can produce more results than positive synergy.
So it get going with the various strategies which will be fitting into their respective domains.

Save Power For India – Is it viable?????
No wonder in today’s scenario, scarcity heads as a host and it affects across industries and businesses. It starts from the food preservation and goes with food, water, money, facilities and so on. What’s the base reason behind this and its obvious to know that majority of the resources are over utilized by the higher end people/influenced people in India. Till date we speak and discuss about the scarcity of food in India and it’s not something to be discussed by countries like India where we are standing first in rice, wheat and other cereals. India is said to be second largest populated country in the world and just think how we need to share and utilize the resources and trust me this is not happening in the way we think!!!
Some data to speak on wasting the resources in some major places like hotels. A small hotel in Bangalore literally spends more than one lakh rupee per month for dumping/disposing the garbages. These garbage majorly not considered as a food waste, actually it’s the food that get wasted is garbaged. It can be shared to the low dearth people and there are ways and means to do that. Why are we not even giving a time to think? The same happens with many corporate organizations as well.
Same way the power consumption, which seeing a terrible changes and scarcity in today’s India. We are completely depend on the power for each and everything for our daily need and it becomes like that we can’t survive without that. Accepting all the facts that we discussed above and what would be next step to solve this problem and who will own the problem!!! Is the government, concern department or public!!!
The other lowly populated countries are even has a process and plan for the power consumption and resource utilization. Major corporate IT companies are having a process inside their work place to utilize the power properly and why it can’t be replicated at the domestic level in India like households and other places.
Today everything is being outsourced and the concept of pre paid for the services offered are being seen in all the industry sources. The industries already in these spaces are like telecom, television media and as such.
Is there a way to replicate the same in the power industry and make it as pre- paid services? Let’s get into how we can implement this new strategy for power consumption.
Allocate a limited number of units for the household per month and fix it up based on the usage.
The charges would be again based on the slab and id it cross fixed unit, a customer has to pay the premium charges for the same.
The government can outsource these services to private vendors for managing the process and revenue recognitions.
The customer should get access to the Power tracking report that can be viewed online for the easy access and unit tracking.
Online payment facility for the same, by the way expenses can be tracked on monthly basis.
Stakeholders:
The stakeholders can be the government, private players and public have to join hands to take forward this initiative and prepare a planning process for the same.
Moral: Awake before it gets into the well!!!!!!
Who knows if we pay the same like gold price of today for power!!!! Are we game for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Sales Strategy - “Convince the Customer or Confuse the Customer"
Through this blog I would like to bring the differential sales strategy to the business table. Is it a new strategy that I’m going to talk about? definitely not, this stipulate new colors and faces for the existing sales approaches. Some real market strategies like push and pull strategy are sometime fails to emanate results. But the sales are the way we look at and there are ways and means to achieve business and win customer deals.
Let’s start getting into the approach of the strategies and insights.
Is confusing the customer a better way to win the deals and handle the customers? Really not it mean that way. The market is really open and we see large vendor base to choose from for the customers. These days customer really not worried about the availability of their interests, the reason behind this explains the number of players exists in the market with particular business. Let’s take some instances from IT industry, a customer is looking for setting up of IT infrastructure for his organisation and started evaluating the vendors in the market. When you really see this situation there are ‘N’ number of players in the market who provides the same kind of services and it really difficult for the customer from whom to choose from.
This new approach will raise its hand at this moment and says the sales guys that, you would close this business differently. How it works? There are ways to look at these strategies and be optimistic when you implement this approach to the customer, it may turn otherway sometimes!!!!!
Let’s get into some pre-requisites to enable this approach with success voice.
1. Complete knowledge on the product that need to be sold. Like product competence, competition, price, ROI and so on.
2. Strong confidence to speak the fact and comparison to the customer on the product features and competences.
3. Reading the customer mind set and the acceptance level on the client front and take forward from there.
4. Finally, the sales person has to be very clear in his communication and better not to commit anything on the flipside.
Politically this strategy sometimes may yield into wrong side but at times it works exponentially. By keeping above pre-requisites in mind, the sales person can win the customer deals with ease.

SALES MORAL: Is customer not convinced , better confuse him and inturn the client will not buy from the competitor too. The client again would start thinking about the discussion you had with him and just wait he would call you again for the discussion and definitely you will win the customer.
